The holy month of Ramazan begins on Saturday 28th of June. Muslim´s will fast from sunrise to sunset for 30 days. During the fast they don´t eat, drink or smoke. When sun sets, the fast is broken with “iftar”- dinner. In Alanya a cannon shoot is shot from the castle, which tells that the fast is over for the day.
If travelling outside from tourist area, in traditional places or in countryside, it is polite to be considerate and not to drink, eat or smoke in public.
